There are 4 safety rating categories as follows:
Satisfactory - Unaudited
Assigned to all new commercial motor carriers. This rating does not change until a carrier has been audited.
Satisfactory - Audited
Assigned when a motor carrier has successfully passed a facility audit and all 3 thresholds - convictions, at-fault accidents and inspections - are below 85%.
Assigned to a motor carrier who has failed a facility audit and/or 1 or more thresholds are above 85%.
Assigned to a motor carrier when the Highway Traffic Board deems the motor carrier as unfit.
