Use of website cookies
There are 2 types of cookies:
- Session cookies are used only for the length of time you stay on the website. When you leave the website, they expire and are no longer active. We use session cookies to enable us to better serve you when you visit www.sgi.sk.ca.
- Persistent cookies are more permanent and can be re-read when you return to the website that placed them on your computer. We use persistent cookies from time to time to prevent 1-time events from occurring during subsequent user visits. This often applies to message or survey pop-ups.

User trend analysis
When you visit our website or use our services, some information such as your computer’s operating system, Internet Protocol (IP) address, access times, browser type and language, and the website you visited before our website is logged automatically and stored in secure log files. We report on this logged information in aggregate, in other words, no personal information is included in the reports. These reports help us understand trends in our users’ needs so that we can better consider new features or otherwise tailor our products and services.
Links to other sites
The use of the term 'analytics' is defined as information we collect about our websites such as length of time spent on our sites, what pages are loaded, and by what kinds of devices. This general analytic data does not identify the user directly.
Google: Google services such as Analytics and Google Maps may be used to enhance service for SGI website visitors. Google may collect and report non-identifiable information about activities on Google services. This information is password protected and only available to SGI staff and SGI social media consultants. See Google's privacy centre and terms of service for further information on applications and policies.
YouTube: SGI posts videos and comments on our YouTube channel. You do not need to register with YouTube to watch videos. YouTube may record non-identifiable information about its site usage, such as channels and videos, but if you are logging on with a YouTube user ID, YouTube may associate information about your site use with your YouTube account, including comments made on SGI posted videos. This information may be used by SGI staff and SGI social media consultants. Personal information you include when registering with YouTube may be visible to visitos who view comments.
