Seatbelts aren’t the only thing that can help prevent serious injury or death.  A safe vehicle also includes a properly adjusted head restraint.

In fact, that little cushion at the top of your seat can go a long way in preventing whiplash injuries, which represent more than half of all auto injury claims in Saskatchewan.

Most whiplash injuries are the result of rear-end collisions that cause your head to snap back suddenly, even though most of these collisions take place at low to moderate speeds.

Protect yourself by adjusting your head restraint so the top edge is level with the top of your head.  The restraint will cushion the back of your head in a collision and save you from a serious pain in the neck.
