Risk Management and Insurance Scholarship - University of Calgary
This scholarship is open to Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba students enrolled in the Haskayne School of Business with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance (RMIN) or Risk Management and Insurance/Finance (RMIF). One scholarship is awarded each year to a student registered in their second, third, or fourth year of studies in the program at the University of Calgary – a program that provides an ideal opportunity for students to gain professional and academic knowledge directly related to the insurance industry. Students transferring into the program from other academic institutions are also eligible to apply.
SGI has a presence in the three Prairie provinces and graduates of this specialized program could potentially work in any of these three locations.
Criteria
To be eligible, a student must:
- be a resident of Saskatchewan, Alberta or Manitoba
- be registered in the second, third, or fourth year of studies in Risk Management and Insurance (RMIN) or Risk Management and Insurance/Finance (RMIF) at the University of Calgary
- have a GPA of 3.20
Value
One (1) scholarship of $3,000 will be awarded annually.
Application process
No application is required for this scholarship. Eligible students will automatically be considered by their faculty.
Selection process
Selections are usually made in mid April by the Insurance and Risk Management faculty.
Employment
- SGI will not guarantee employment for award recipients; however we may give the recipients preferential consideration for employment following the completion of their studies.
- Recipients are not obliged to work for SGI during, or at the completion of, the educational program.
