Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology (SIIT) Scholarship


In keeping with SGI’s commitment to diversity and support of aboriginal youth, two (2) scholarships for SIIT students will be awarded on an annual basis.

Criteria

This scholarship is open to students enrolled in the Management Studies Faculty in the areas of:

  • Accounting
  • Management Studies Diploma

To be eligible, a student must:

  • be enrolled full-time and take a full course load
  • have earned a minimum 70% average
  • have 90% attendance

In the event that multiple students meet the above criteria, there will be some secondary criteria used to break ties such as:

  • clearly defined career goals identified in cover letter/resume
  • financial need
  • number of dependants

Application/submission should include:

  • application
  • updated resume and cover letter
  • letter of reference from an instructor
  • recent transcripts
  • attendance records

Value

Two (2) $1,500 scholarships will be awarded annually.

Application process

Students apply directly to SIIT. Students may download the application from the SIIT website or pick up applications at the Campus or program delivery sites.

Deadline

The deadline is November 1 of each year.

Selection process

A selection committee established through SIIT will select the recipients. Scholarships will be awarded in December.

Employment

  • SGI will not guarantee employment for award recipients; however we may give the recipients preferential consideration for employment following the completion of their studies or for summer student/co-op opportunities.
  • Recipients are not obliged to work for SGI during, or at the completion of, the educational program.
