Insurance and Risk Management Scholarship - Grant MacEwan College
The Insurance and Risk Management Faculty at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, Alberta offers programming that is relevant to SGI’s business. This program is compressed into a 12-month format during which students take a number of Insurance Institute classes. Graduates of this specialized program have the background for a career at SGI.
Criteria
To be eligible, a student must:
- be enrolled full-time in the Insurance and Risk Management program (minimum nine (9) credit hours per term)
- be a resident of Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba
- maintain a GPA of 3.0 by the end of the second term. Scholarships will be awarded to the students achieving the highest cumulative GPA.
- be receiving no other Insurance and Risk Management scholarships
Note: There are currently five (5) scholarships offered through Grant MacEwan to Insurance and Risk Management majors. Unless otherwise specified, the students with the highest averages receive the scholarships. There is a possibility that the same students will win most or all of the awards. To ensure our scholarship is available to a larger group of students, the requirement for students to be receiving no other Insurance and Risk Management scholarships is part of the criteria.

Value
Two (2) scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded annually.
Application process
There is no application for this scholarship and therefore, no deadline to apply.
Students in the Insurance and Risk Management faculty that meet the criteria will automatically be considered.
Selection process
When second term marks are posted, all potential candidates are reviewed by Grant MacEwan. Recipients shall be selected by the Student Resource Centre Selection Committee on May 15 of each year.
Employment
- SGI will not guarantee employment for award recipients; however we may give the recipients preferential consideration for employment following the completion of their studies.
- Recipients are not obliged to work for SGI during, or at the completion of, the educational program.
