Driver medical assessment programs
If you have a permanent disability or a change in your health status that may affect your ability to drive, you may be required to attend one of the following programs:
These programs assess your medical fitness to drive – i.e. your ability to operate a motor vehicle in a way that’s safe for you and other road users.
SGI’s Medical Review Unit (MRU) may ask you to attend one of the programs, or you may be referred by your physician. You can also choose to attend on your own.
Results of all assessments performed are forwarded to the MRU. You’re responsible for all program fees.
The Driver Evaluation Program is a part of the Saskatoon Health District’s Rehabilitation Services and is located at Saskatoon City Hospital. The Driver Assessment Program is part of Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region’s Rehabilitation Services and is located at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.
