This official Saskatchewan Roughrider licence plate is a single plate that goes on the rear of the vehicle.

Saskatchewan Roughrider plate

Note: If you have a Rider plate on the rear of your vehicle, you can't display a different plate on the front of your vehicle, including a personalized plate.

The cost to purchase a Rider plate is:

  • $50 + GST for a single regular series Rider plate for display on the rear of your vehicle
  • $20 + GST for a duplicate of the same Rider plate to display on the front of your vehicle

These costs are in addition to the regular registration fees and insurance premiums associated with your vehicle.

Eligibility

Any individual or company that is eligible to display a Saskatchewan licence plate on their vehicle can purchase a Rider plate. However, Rider plates are only available in the large format plate - they are not available in the smaller format for motorcycles or snowmobiles.

Order your plate

To purchase a Rider plate for yourself, or as a gift for someone else, just visit any motor licence issuer.

  • They will place the order for you, and collect the fee of $50 + GST.
  • You will receive your Rider plate in the mail.
  • Before displaying it on a vehicle, it will need to be activated at an issuing office. This will register the plate to the vehicle and ensure you are properly registered and insured.
  • The issuer will provide licence plate stickers and an updated certificate of registration reflecting your new Rider plate number.
  • If you are replacing another licence plate in your name with the Rider plate, just ask the issuer to activate your new Rider plate in place of your old plate.

Gift vouchers

Support the Riders and show your pride by purchasing Rider plate vouchers to give as prizes or gifts. The vouchers cost $52.50 each for a regular series plate (not personalized).

To order, call 1-800-667-8015 ext. 1232 or 751-1200 ext. 1232 in Regina.
