Regular series plates, including regular series Rider plates, can be replaced by your local motor licence issuer. To replace your personalized licence plate, your motor licence issuer can provide you with a regular Saskatchewan licence plate to temporarily display on your vehicle while we order a replacement for you. A $20 fee applies.

When you receive your replacement plate, you will need to visit your issuer to activate the new plate, and receive your licence plate stickers and replacement registration certificate.

Veteran plate replacement

You can order a replacement plate by completing a Veteran plate application form (pdf, 410 kb). Under the Licence Plate Order Options check off that you require a replacement plate.

Related fees:

  • If you'd like the replacement plate to have the same number as your previous veteran plate, download the Special Order Plates application form (pdf, 683 kb) or visit a motor licence issuer. A $20 replacement fee applies.
  • If it's okay for the replacement plate to be a different number, you'll get the next veteran plate in the series, and a $10 replacement fee applies.

Note: If you need an immediate replacement for your lost, stolen or damaged Veteran plate, visit a motor licence issuer. They'll give you a regular Saskatchewan plate for a $10 fee, which will allow you to continue to use your vehicle until your new Veteran plate can be sent out. When you receive your replacement plate, you will need to visit your issuer to activate the new plate, and receive your licence plate stickers and replacement registration certificate. Since you have already paid a $10 fee, the issuer will not charge an additional fee.

Auto extension policy

It's important to notify your insurance broker when you change your plate number so they can change it on your package policy. When you validate your new Veteran plate, be sure to call your broker and give them the new plate number.
