Written exams

Written exams are conducted on a computer in our driver exam offices and on paper at our satellite locations. The minimum age for writing the Class 7 - Learner's licence exam is 16 years of age - 15 if enrolled in high school driver education. Other licence classifications have different prerequisites.

Road tests

You can book your appointment for a Class 5 road test before you turn 16 but you must be 16 or older on the date of your exam and have your Class 7 licence for a minimum of 9 months. You must also have completed the high school driver education program or received a minimum of 6 hours in-car and 6 hours in-class instruction from a licensed driver instructor. Other licence classifications have different prerequisites.

Scheduling

If you wish to schedule a Class 5 or motorcycle road test appointment, visit MySGI to book online or find out how to book with a motor licence issuer. To book written exams and all other types of road tests call 1-800-667-5111.
