To drive in Saskatchewan you must hold a valid driver's licence for the type of vehicle you wish to operate.

Driver's licence classes establish the minimum standards of skill, knowledge, physical fitness and mental fitness required for the safe operation of different types of vehicles. Drivers are then licensed accordingly.

Class 7

Learner's licence

Class 5

Cars, vans and 2-axle trucks

Class 4

Taxis, ambulances and buses with a seating capacity of 16 to 24 passengers

Class 3

Trucks with more than 2 axles

Class 2

Buses exceeding 24 passengers

Class 1

Power units and semi trailers, trucks towing trailers over 4,600 kg
