G - Detail Authority Card specification

A G endorsement requires you to carry a separate Detail Authority Card with your driver's licence.

This card indicates additional driving privileges to what is shown on your licence. The common ones are listed here.

G01 Heavy trailer
May drive 2-axle trucks (not including 2-axle power units) towing trailers more than 4,600 kg (10,000 lbs).
G02 Heavy trailer learner
May drive, as a learner, 2-axle trucks (not including 2-axle power units) towing trailers more than 4,600 kg (10,000 lbs).
G03 Northern Class 5
Class 5 privileges (Novice 2 restrictions) north of the 55th parallel.
G04 Northern Class 4
Class 4 privileges north of the 55th parallel, within 80 km of address shown on licence.
G05 Northern Class 3
Class 3 privileges north of the 55th parallel, within 80 km of address shown on licence.
G06 Northern Class 2
Class 2 privileges north of the 55th parallel, within 80 km of address shown on licence.
G07 Northern Class 1
Class 1 privileges north of the 55th parallel, within 80 km of address shown on licence.
G08 Northern School Bus
May drive a school bus north of the 55th parallel, within 80 km of address shown on licence.
G09 Northern motorcycle
May drive a motorcycle north of the 55th parallel.
G10 Northern heavy trailer
May drive 2-axle trucks (not including 2-axle power units) north of the 55th parallel, within 80 km of address shown on licence, towing trailers more than 4,600 kg (10,000 lbs).
G11 Well-service Rigs 1 and 3
May drive Class 1 and 3 well-service rigs and attendant support equipment (with or without air brakes) while travelling in convoy with the rig at speeds under 80 km/h.
G12 Well-service rigs 1 and 3 automatic
May drive Class 1 and 3 well-service rigs and attendant support equipment (with or without air brakes) while travelling in convoy with the rig at speeds under 80 km/h. Automatic/electronic shift transmission only.
G13 Well-service rigs 3
May drive Class 3 well-service rigs and attendant support equipment (with or without air brakes) while travelling in convoy with the rig at speeds under 80 km/h.
G14 Well-service rigs 3 automatic
