Seatbelts

One of our main traffic safety goals is to prevent deaths and serious injuries by improving seatbelt usage.

The statistics speak for themselves:

• On average, 54 unbelted occupants die each year on Saskatchewan roads.
• Seatbelts can decrease the chances of sustaining a serious injury in a traffic crash by as much as 50%.

Your best defense against injury or death is to buckle up every time you're in a vehicle.

We're a part of Road Safety Strategy 2015 (RSS 2015), a national effort for making Canada's roads the safest in the world. SGI has set a goal, in line with RSV 2010, to have 95% of people in the province using seatbelts by the year 2010.
