Recipients may receive only 1 SGI scholarship during their studies.
Criteria
To be eligible, a student must:
- be a child/legal dependant of an employee of SGI or its wholly-owned subsidiaries
- be enrolled full-time in a certificate, diploma, or degree program at an accredited post-secondary campus
- provide proof of enrolment in the fall semester of the current academic year
- submit a transcript demonstrating a minimum average of 70% in the last academic year of study
- demonstrate contribution to community, extracurricular activities or commitments made in balancing work, education and home responsibilities
Note: It is not necessary for the Anniversary Scholarship applicants to attend a program that is relevant to SGI's business.
Value
Four scholarships of $2,500 are awarded annually.

SGI will accept applications starting May 1. Applications are to be submitted by September 30 of each year. Students must provide proof of enrolment in the fall semester with their application.
Selection process
In early October, applications are reviewed against the scholarship criteria. Those applicants who meet all of the criteria will have their names placed in a draw. Winners are notified by phone and letter in early October.
Employment
SGI will not guarantee employment for award recipients; however we may give the recipients preferential consideration for employment following the completion of their studies and/or for summer or co-op work terms.
Recipients are not obliged to work for SGI during, or at the completion of, the educational program.
