The SGI Labour Day Safe Ride
Aug. 19, 2009
In order to provide safe and accessible transportation during the Labour Day weekend, SGI is proud to sponsor a continuous shuttle service in Regina.
The transit shuttle will offer free rides to and from the 2200 block of Dewdney Avenue, the University of Regina, and hotels located in the downtown, north, south and east areas. Running every half hour, shuttles will be available on Saturday, Sept. 5 from midnight to 3:30 a.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 6 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
SGI is offering this service to reduce the number of impaired driving incidents and address safety concerns over the Labour Day weekend.
In past years, the city's transit and taxi services alone have been unable to accommodate the influx of fans who take in the annual Labour Day Classic.
Now, fans and partygoers can enjoy the weekend's celebrations knowing they have a complimentary, safe and convenient way to cross the city.
